Plastering Services Melbourne

Plaster Wizards covers every part of the plastering trade across Melbourne, residential and commercial: shop fitting, fire rated walls and ceilings, suspended ceilings, exposed grid ceilings, partition walls, bulkheads, light troughs, ornamental cornices, plus Venetian plaster and microcement.

If you have ever had a plasterer quote your job and then go quiet, or watched a fresh patch dry three shades off the wall beside it, you already know that the crew matters more than the material.

We have been plastering Melbourne homes and commercial sites for 27 years, and most of our work now comes from builders, architects, interior designers and shopfitters who ring us back.

What we do

Complete Plastering Services Across Melbourne

Residential and Commercial Plastering

Most residential work is new plasterboard on a renovation or an extension, or repair work on a house that has moved. Melbourne clay and wet winters are hard on old plaster, so cracked cornices, sagging ceilings and water damage are our bread and butter.

We patch and texture match so the repair does not read as a repair, and we handle insurance jobs from the first look to the final sand. On commercial sites we work to the builder’s program, sequence around the other trades and keep the place clean. Where a wall will cop critical light or gloss paint, we can take it to a Level 5 finish.

Shop and Retail Fit Outs
Shop and Retail Fit Outs

We have completed projects in all the major shopping centres across Melbourne and at Melbourne Airport, so centre management holds no surprises for us: night shifts, dock bookings, hoarding, inductions and a hard handover date. Shop fitting plaster is rarely about the plaster.

It is about turning up when the shopfitter says, closing in the walls and ceilings so joinery and electrical can follow, and never being the trade that holds up an opening.

Suspended Ceilings

A suspended ceiling drops a new plasterboard ceiling below the structure and hides ducting, services and an uneven slab. We set the grid out properly, hang it off the structure rather than off the services, and sheet it flat so the ceiling reads as one clean plane.

Exposed Grid Ceilings

Where the services above need to stay accessible, an exposed grid ceiling is the answer. Tiles lift out, the electrician gets in, and the room goes back together in minutes. Choose acoustic tiles for a noisy office or a plain white finish for a retail tenancy, in the standard tile sizes.

Partition Walls

Metal stud partitions divide a tenancy, an office or an apartment without the cost of building in. The framing does the work, so we build to the wall system specified, at the right stud gauge and centres, with insulation where it is called for.

If a wall has to hold sound back between two tenancies, that gets designed in at the start rather than chased later.

Fire Rated Walls and Ceilings

Fire rated construction is the one part of our work where there is no room to improvise. A fire rated wall or ceiling only performs the way the paperwork says if it is built as the tested system: the right board, the right screw pattern, the right sealant at every penetration and junction.

We build it exactly as specified, and we would rather ask than guess.

Bulkheads and Light Troughs

Bulkheads hide the ducts, beams and plumbing runs nobody wants to look at, and they do a lot of the good work in a modern kitchen or a retail space. Light troughs are the same idea used for effect, a recessed channel that carries LED strip and washes the ceiling in soft light.

Preformed sizes suit most jobs, and we make custom bulkheads when the design asks for it.

Ornamental Cornices and Feature Detail

Cornice is still the cheapest way to add height and character to a room, and the range runs from a simple cove to deep Victorian and Edwardian profiles. In a period home the trick is matching what is already there, so a new run reads as original.

We also fit ceiling roses under a pendant or chandelier, and can arrange custom mouldings when nothing off the shelf is close enough

Commercial Plastering Melbourne

Venetian Plaster and Microcement

The most common complaint about tradies is not the work, it is the disappearing act: a quote, then silence, then a no-show on the booked day. We built our reputation on the opposite. Over 16 years of residential and commercial plastering across Melbourne, one crew that turns up and finishes, honest and affordable quotes with no surprise costs, and a genuinely clean site at the end. You get a full-service plasterer, from square set and cornice to suspended ceilings, decorative finishes and insurance repairs, all under one number.

The Quality Materials and Brands We Use

We buy trade materials from Knauf, Rondo, CSR and Hopkins, and we do not swap them out to shave a quote.

  • Board thickness and paper quality decide how a joint sands.
  • Steel track and stud decide whether a wall stays straight.
  • Compounds decide whether a repair is still invisible in six months.

When a specification names a system, every component has to come out of that system.

How it works

Three Steps From Quote to Finished Job

1. Free quote

Call 0411 479 330, or send plans and photos. We look at the job, ask the questions that matter, and give you a clear written price.

2. Booked and staged

We lock in dates and work around the other trades and your family. Furniture covered, floors protected, dust kept where it belongs.

3. Finished and cleaned up

We sand, check the work under a light, and leave your walls and ceilings ready for the painter. Offcuts and rubbish go with us.
